If you’re reading this, you’re an intrepid Skuid eager to get your hands on the most cutting edge tech.:skuid_muscle:

⭐️ We’ll keep the State of the new Composer post updated with the following:

  • Regular updates there about improvements delivered into the new Composer,

  • Warnings about problem areas and issues we are aware of.

Get Started with the New Composer!

  1. In the options next to “revisions” select “Edit in new composer (Beta)”

Not seeing this option? Email earlyaccess@skuid.com with your Skuid site URL (Skuid NLX) or Salesforce org Id (Salesforce) to get access to the New Composer.

  1. When you first open the new composer you will get an introductory popup with access to a guided tour and some other resources.

Resources

The best place to get started is the guided tour of the new Composer. It will be the first thing you see when you open the Composer for the first time. You can click the Take a tour button to recall the tour at will.

We Suggest New Pages

The new composer is a work in progress, and a number of conventions in the new composer will make it difficult to move work back to the old composer after doing a lot of work in the new composer. Because of that we encourage you to start building completely new pages for evaluation and testing.

How to Report Issues

  1. Create a new post in the New Composer category. It will be pre-populated with a template.

  2. Fill out the template and delete the example at the bottom.

  3. Click Create Topic.

Types of Feedback

Any and all feedback is welcome! We especially want to know about bugs or things you would normally do in the current Composer that you find impossible, or more difficult than they should be in this new Composer experience.

:interrobang: Question
:people_holding_hands: Parity - features from the current Composer are missing from the new Composer

Plans and Release Timing

Our plans for the new composer are as follows.

  1. With the EU3 release it will be in early access testing. This means its only available on request.

  2. With our next release in early 2024 we plan to release it as an open beta. This means it will be available for all Skuid builders, but will not be the “Default” build experience.

  3. At some point later in 2024 (TBD) we will swap that - so the new composer will be the Default experience, but the current builder will still be available as backup.

  4. In 2025 we will remove the current builder from the product.

These plans are still tentative, and depend in many regards on feedback you provide.
